A Note from Ms. Hayward

Math
Today we reviewed what symmetry is. The students cut out 4 shapes and had to fold them along their line(s) of symmetry. Then I had the students come up to the board to show me where they folded. We talked about how some shapes can have more than one line of symmetry, like the hexagon for example. Then the students had some extra practice drawing reflections of some shapes. Our review is due tomorrow and our test will be on Friday.

UOI with Language Focus
Today we read another chapter of our novel study book. Then students answered the corresponding comprehension questions.

Then Marloe and Samara both got to read the class stories that they wrote and illustrated themselves. They were so proud and excited to share it with their classmates. Keep it up girls!

Unit of Inquiry
Today we watched a video that talked about the different animals and plants we find in the ocean. Then as a class we came up with a list of each one. Then students had to choose 8 of each to copy onto their sheet. Then they began drawing the ocean and had to make sure to include the appropriate animals and plants that belong there.

Have a great evening!
