Apraxia Awareness Day
Today we had our apraxia day assembly at morning announcements. Students learned about what Apraxia is and how students with apraxia take a little bit of extra time to process things. Then students got to go up to play the 'whack a mole' typer game with a blind fold to see how students with Apraxia experience things. There are still lots of prizes to be won so students can bring another $2 tomorrow to participate again if they would like.

A Note from Ms. Hayward

Math
Today we learned about flips, slides and turns. We went over what each one means and what it looks like. Then students had to trace and 3 shapes in their book and cut them out. They had to figure out how to get to the second shape and then write if it was a flip, slide or turn.

UOI with Language Focus
Today we completed 2 pages of our novel study package. For this novel study, students will be completing their questions independently. We will brainstorm idea together and then students will answer the questions using the answer of their choice. Our spelling test will be tomorrow!

Unit of Inquiry
Today we read about 4 different animals - gorillas, cheetahs, koalas and polar bears. We learned about their habitat, what they eat, what special adaptations they have that help them live in their habitat, and some interesting facts about each one! Then they worked with a partner to fill out the research pages about each animal using the information sheet we read.

Have a great evening!
