Math
Today we continued learning about symmetry! We went over some examples on the board together as a class and then students had to circle the pictures that were symmetrical. Then they had to draw the lines of symmetry. Then had had to complete another page in their math workbook where they had to circle the letters of the alphabet that are symmetrical and draw the lines of symmetry. Once they were finished, they completed a page where they had to colour the shapes based on their attributes.

Arts Night

Today we went to watch the grade 3-8 arts night. They did a great job performing the Wizard of Oz! I was very impressed with their hard work! There will be another performance tonight at 6:30 if you would like to attend.

Physical Education

We did not have gym today as we were at the Wizard of Oz arts night.

Music

We did not have music today as we were at the Wizard of Oz arts night.

Unit of Inquiry

Today we finished our 'What's a Habitat?' booklets. They have done a great job showing what they have learned!

Spelling Words and Homework

What is Action?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!

About Me

Hello, my name is Sara Brasil and I am so excited to be joining St Jude's Academy for the remainder of the school year! I completed my education at Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University where I achieved an undergraduate degree and a teaching degree. My background is Portuguese, and I will be getting married this October.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher and worked hard to pursue my dream. I love working with children and working alongside them to build their potential and realize their own dreams!
