Fundraising Market

As part of our summative assessment the grade one classes have decided to open a market to complement our organization unit. The market will include fruits, vegetables, drinks and other healthy snacks. It will be held in rooms 25, 28 and 29. The market will take place all day Thursday, January. 24th and Friday, January. 25th. All profits made will be donated to the Sick Kid’s Hospital. We appreciate your support!

March Break Camp at SJA

Jump Rope for Heart

It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA!

Math
  • We continued our unit on data management and probability. Children had to create a spinner and then predict which letter, A or B, would be more likely to win when spinning it 10 times. We knew that the letters that had the bigger section of the spinner would be more likely to win, and in most cases, thats what happened! Students then had to pick a new spinner and see how their results were different. They had so much fun spinning their own spinners!

French

Inquiry into Language
  • Students had time to finish their spelling exercise book and then work on their spelling sentences.

Gym

Unit of Inquiry
  • Today we started setting up the classroom for the market tomorrow! All the students are so excited for the other classes to come visit us and purchase our items! If your child has not yet brought in their item, please make sure they bring it tomorrow!

Have a great evening!
