Spelling Bee
Today we went to watch and support the JK/SK spelling bee in the morning and then the Grade 1-3 spelling bee in the afternoon! All the spellers did a great job! Congratulations to all the participants and the winners!

Math
Today we went over the math review package. Students came up to the board to show how they answered the questions. Our unit test will be tomorrow!

French

UOI with Language Focus
Today we worked on our spelling words. This week is a review week so the students have about 30 words of review. They picked 10 words they want to write spelling sentences for. For the spelling test on Friday, I will be picking 10 from the long list. Students then worked on their spelling workout book and had time to work on their spelling sentences if they finished early.

Physical Education
We were at the spelling bee during gym today.

Music
We were at the spelling bee during music today.

Spelling Words and Homework

What is Action?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!

I’d love to hear about the action your children take part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together!

About Me

Hello, my name is Sara Brasil and I am so excited to be joining St Jude's Academy for the remainder of the school year! I completed my education at Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University where I achieved an undergraduate degree and a teaching degree. My background is Portuguese, and I will be getting married this October.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher and worked hard to pursue my dream. I love working with children and working alongside them to build their potential and realize their own dreams!
