Spelling Bee
Today we had our in-class spelling bee with all the grade ones! I am so proud of everybody for trying their best and participating! The top 6 students have been chosen and will move on to the school spelling bee on April 8th.
Today we continued practicing adding and subtracting with the place value mats. The students are really getting the hang of it now! They completed the work independently and then we took it up as a class on the board. Some students came up to show us how they solved the problems. Just a reminder that the test has been moved to Tuesday instead of Friday and the review is due on Monday.
UOI with Language Focus
Today we read the book 'Little Pea' and learned about out IB attribute of the month, balanced. We talked about what it means to be balanced and how to lead a balanced life. We made a list together of how we can work towards it. They came up with some great ideas!
Physical EducationAll specialists were busy with parent-teacher conferences today so we did some dancing in the classroom! Students followed along with some Just Dance videos. They had so much fun!
Unit of Inquiry
Today students learned about African Shakeres. We watched a video about where they came from and how they are used. They sounded so cool! Then students got to make their own! They decorated a water bottle and then we filled them with some rice!
Have a great evening!
