Happy 7th Birthday Diyanka! The class sang her happy birthday and signed a card for her. She was so happy with her little gift!

Today was a very sad day as it was Adam's last day with us before moving to another country. We wish him the best of luck at his new school! All the students were sad to say goodbye. We will miss you so much Adam!! The class got to sign a card for him and he got a small gift as well.

There was so much green in the school today! It was so nice to see everybody supporting our last spirit day before the break! Our house game today was hosted by Zeta, where students had to put on a blind fold and dig through the lucky charms to find the green coins! Once everybody in the team had found one and sat down, that team won! Zeta came in first place, followed by Theta in second and Kappa in third. Thank you to everybody who participated!

Math
Today we continued with our new unit in math. As a class we did an addition problem by showing the base ten blocks on the place value mats. Then we also solved it by using two column addition like the students learned previously. Then they had to explain how the 2 ways of solving the problem were the same and how they were different. Students then completed the second page on their own. This page was more practice with the place value mats and two column addition. A math package has been sent home to be completed during the march break!

UOI with Language Focus
Today we wrote our spelling test! It has been sent home to be signed and returned. Students also filled in the reflection part of their report cards that will be going home after the break. As a class we brainstormed a whole list of what we learned this term, what we had fun doing and what we could improve on for the next term. Then they had to pick one or two things from each list and write a paragraph about it.

Unit of Inquiry
Today we finished the summative presentations of the inventions the students created. I'm so proud of the hard work I saw during this project!

Clean Up
Since it was the last day before March Break, students had time to empty out their desks and throw out what they didn't need anymore and organize what they did need to keep. They also had time to clean out their cubbies so they can be scrubbed down while we are away!

Have a great March Break!
