Happy Sports day! Thank you to all the students who participated in todays spirit day! I saw so many different teams being represented and supported! Tomorrow will be our last spirit day which is St. Patrick's Day. Make sure you pull out all your green clothes from your closet!
Today we learned all about trading with the base ten blocks. We learned that when we are adding 2 number together and there are more than 10 ones, we can trade them for one group of ten. We went over 2 addition problems as a class and then students had to finish the other 4 on their own. They had to show their work on the place value mats and then circle the addition problems that required trading.

Today we read another 2 chapters of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Students completed the corresponding comprehension questions and predicted what they thought would happen next.

Unit of Inquiry
Today students started their presentations for their summative projects. They got to show the class their invention, tell them what it was or what it did and how it fixed a problem in the world. They also got to show their poster that they made to advertise their invention. Students then had an opportunity to ask questions to the presenter. They did a fantastic job! Presentations will continue tomorrow!
Have a great evening!
