Day 104

Happy Science Centre Thursday!

Upcoming dates:

Friday, February 22: Sibling picture day
Tuesday, February 26: Bake sale
Wednesday, February 27: Casual day and bake sale
Thursday, February 28: Anti-bullying day - Wear Pink!

We had such a great day at the Science Centre today! We got to explore and discover different inventions and machines.

Everyone was so excited to get to the Science Centre!

Look at all the cool astronauts!

We went to the exhibit all about space. We learned about the stars in the sky and about how planets orbit in the solar system. We even got to see what a black hole is like!

We loved the electricity ball show, we learned about atoms, positive and negative charges and why our hair stands up when we touch the electric ball!

It was so cool to see another market like we did! This one had so many items to choose from! Students got to use shoppings carts and baskets to choose their items and then pay at the cash register! There was even a garden to pick vegetables from! They loved it so much!

Everyone was so tired on the way home that most of the students fell asleep!

What is Action?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!

About Me

Hello, my name is Sara Brasil and I am so excited to be joining St Jude's Academy for the remainder of the school year! I completed my education at Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University where I achieved an undergraduate degree and a teaching degree. My background is Portuguese, and I will be getting married this October.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher and worked hard to pursue my dream. I love working with children and working alongside them to build their potential and realize their own dreams!
