Day 101

Happy Valentine's Thursday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Math
Today we did a fun Valentine's Day activity! As part of my gift to the students, they each got a small box of conversation hearts. They had to sort their hearts by colour and then tally them and graph them. They then had to answer some questions about their results.

UOI with Language Focus
Today students wrote their spelling test. It has been sent home to be signed.

Valentine's Day Activities
Today the students got to do many fun activities for Valentine's day. They decorated felt hearts with glitter glue and pom poms that are envelopes for storing things. Then they got to crack the code of Valentine's jokes and they got to make a booklet about hearts. They had so much fun colouring!

Physical Education
Today for gym students participated in Jump Rope for Heart. They rotated through 3 stations which included the snake jump, independent skipping and skipping in the long rope. They had such a good time! Thank you to everyone who donated!

Spelling Words and Homework

What is Action?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!

About Me

Hello, my name is Sara Brasil and I am so excited to be joining St Jude's Academy for the remainder of the school year! I completed my education at Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University where I achieved an undergraduate degree and a teaching degree. My background is Portuguese, and I will be getting married this October.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher and worked hard to pursue my dream. I love working with children and working alongside them to build their potential and realize their own dreams!
