Jump Rope for Heart
It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA. We will be skipping on Thursday and ask all students to come in comfy clothes.
Today we continued learning about 3D figures. We talked about how they have distinct characteristics and tested whether they could roll, stack or slide. Students had to sort the figures using rules such as 'figures that can roll'. They then had to create their own rule and circle the items that fit their rule.

100 Day Activities
Today we did an activity where everyone had to come up with something they wish they had 100 of and something they would NOT want 100 of. They came up with some great answers! Then students had to draw a picture of what they would look like when they are 100 years old.

Daily Five
Today students had time to work on some reading or writing. They could read to themselves or a friend or work on some writing. Some students worked on their spelling sentences and some worked on their cursive writing.
Today we read another 2 chapters of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for our Novel Study. Students answered some comprehension questions and filled in some character traits for one of the characters in the book.
Have a great evening!
