A Note from Ms. Hayward

Math
Today we reviewed what capacity meant. Then we gathered together at the carpet to look at the 2 containers we had. One was circular and one was triangular. Students had to guess which one they thought would hold more or which had the highest capacity. Then we filled the containers one at a time and recorded their capacity. We discussed how 1000 mL can also be said as 1 L. Then the students had to use our findings to say which one had the highest capacity and then put them in order from greatest to least.

UOI
Today we began working on our summative projects! Students were reminded to include only the things that could be found in their animal's habitat. We went on a nature walk where students could collect things to use in their diorama. They collected, sand, rocks, grass, and other items to include. Then we began constructing the dioramas. They are doing a great job so far. If your child has not yet completed their research package, please have them done by tomorrow.

Have a great evening!
