March Break Camp at SJA

Jump Rope for Heart

It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA.

Oral presentations
No gym or music today because of the speech presentations for grades 1-3. Our class was so excited to go and support Diyanka and the rest of the students. They all did a great job! Congratulations to all the winners!!

Math
Today we went over the math review that was due today. I asked the students for their answers and I wrote them on the board. Students got to put a checkmark if they got it correct and got to make their own corrections if they made a mistake. The math test will be tomorrow because we missed a review day yesterday due to the weather.

Unit of Inquiry
Today we read about Thomas Edison and the invention of the lightbulb. We talked about how he tried many times before achieving a lightbulb that was cheap enough, lasted a long time and was efficient. Then students had to write about what it would be like if no one ever invented the lightbulb. They came up with some great sentences!

Book Fair
We went to the book fair so students could go and purchase books and other cool things. Some students bought notebooks, pens and pencils! They had so much fun!

The book fair is happening tomorrow from 1-5:30 and Monday morning from 8:30-12. If students would like to purchase anything, please send money with them to school.

Have a great evening!
