Jump Rope for Heart
It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA.
No math, french, UOI or daily five because we spent most of our day doing the oral presentations with all three grade 1 classes. The students got to hear their peers speeches and got to do their own speeches. They all did such a great job and were so proud of themselves. You could tell they worked really hard! Speeches will continue tomorrow for a period to finish the ones we didn't get to today and the students who were away.
Today students got their new spelling words for the week. They copied them down and had time to work on their spelling exercise workbook.

Book Fair
We got a chance to visit the book fair that Ms. Hayward and her lovely team of student helpers put together! The students got to make a list of the books they wanted and have brought those home to show their parents. We ask that you please make sure they bring them back to school, as they will submit their wishlist in the wishing well and one lucky student and their teacher will each win $25 to spend at the book fair! Teachers also got to make a class wishlist of books we would love and appreciate parents to purchase for our classroom!
The book fair is happening all week, so if students would like to purchase anything, please send money with them to school or visit during the family shop hours (Wednesday 3:45-5:30 and Thursday 7:30-9:00am)
Have a great evening!
