A message from some of the grade 6s:

Donate to people who are homeless

Hi!!, Our names are Mona, Joana, and Shivam.

We are doing a project called Exhibition where we choose a topic we are interested in and want to research more about in order to make a positive difference in our world. We chose the topic of homelessness because we do not want anyone to be without their basic needs. Every person has the right to have a home and food to eat and clothing to wear.
We are collecting donations so that we can donate them to Angela’s Place, a homeless shelter right here in Mississauga.

You can donate:
  • Non perishable food
  • Clothing (for all ages such as Pants, shirts, hats ,shoes and more)
  • Toiletries (mouthwash, feminine products, toothpaste, toothbrush, and deodorant)
  • Seasonal clothing
  • Baby formula
  • Diapers
  • Baby products

Reason why we are doing this= Our plan is to help people who are homeless who need food and clothing and any other useful materials. After collecting these materials, we are going to donate all these items to a shelter called “Angela's Place(45 Glenn Hawthorne Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5R 4J9).

Thank you so much for making the world a better place!

Please bring items to Ms. Jaskolka's class (Room 30)

Math

Today the students had to find 4 things in the classroom to measure with their ruler. They had to write they down, record their length and then create a graph to show their results. Then they had to put the measurements in order from shortest to longest.

French
Today Mlle Jessica was busy covering another class so I had the students work on the easter colouring page they were given in yesterdays French class.

UOI with Language Focus
Today students wrote their spelling test. They have been sent home to be signed. After, they had some time to finish writing their letter about why they are ready for grade 2.

Physical Education
Please see Ms. Yustin's blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Unit of Inquiry
Today the students continued working on their sugar skulls from yesterday. We watched part of the movie Coco while they coloured, where they got to see how the Day of the Dead is celebrated.

Arts Night
We practiced our singing for our arts night song! The students are getting so good with the lyrics. Then we started working on our dance and practicing the moves in sync. We will continue to practice every day in class!

Have a great evening!
